Taking the necessary precautions for occupational health and safety, raising awareness of employees and employers, receiving complete training and using the necessary equipment can prevent 98% of the risks that may occur in the working environment. In order to prevent fire and explosions, necessary precautions should be taken within the framework of design control with all kinds of techniques, and control of any situation that may cause loss of life and property should be ensured before starting work. All kinds of materials, equipment and processes used in the workplace should be used and stored in accordance with the purpose of the process. In order to prevent situations that may interact with each other and cause an emergency, a material safety form should be prepared for each substance and the explanations, usage amounts and storage methods of the relevant substances should be specified. This study, the definition of related concepts about fires and explosions in industrial work areas, the reasons for the occurrence of fires and explosions, the necessary precautions and measures to be taken against the material and moral damages caused to the workplace and the worker and to prevent these events from occurring are emphasized.
