Abstract (EN)

Supplying required amount of the Energy in a safety and inexpressive way for developing industry, increase in living standards and growing population, become main goal for countries all over the world. On hand, the increase in price of the petroleum products based on declining petroleum-based energy resources; on the other hand increase in energy demand of industrialized & industrializing countries including Turkey and other European countries, has increased interests in renewable energy sources. It is needed to implement the use of pumped-storage hydroelectric power plants in Turkey in order to develop renewable energy sources and especially wind power plants to maximize the use of these researches. The accumulated Pumped Hydroelectric Power Plants are very valuable System in which since long time ego the system is being used by many industrially developed & developing countries while this system has not been used and even the installation of mentioned system unrealized yet, in Turkey. The synchronization of Electric System of Turkey into the European Electricity System (UCTE) is still going on. On of the main condition of this synchronization is the lack supply deficit & constant of the system frequency. They are able to help in balancing of the system in this regard. This study is comparing one of the renewable energy systems, pumped accumulating hydroelectric plants (PHES), which has been used for many years in all over the world to meet the energy needs in peak hours, with other renewable energy systems. Furthermore, this study is also trying to explain the meaning of the concept of the "Peak Load" and also consist the Storage methods which can meet the need of peak load with many different examples. A new project has been effectuated for pumping-storage hydroelectric power plants which has showed the most rapid development in which this project is aiming to maximize the efficiency and minimize the production cost of renewable energy. That is a project which I have designed is aiming to operate the wind energy plant by the hybrid system. By analyzing the result of this applicable wind energy supported Hydroelectric plants project we are aiming to see whether this system will be applicable in Turkey or not.
