Abstract (EN)
The duration of the elimination of faults in Power Transmission Lines (PTL) affects the duration of the outage and thus the reliability and continuity of the Power Transmission Systems. Accurate detection of the location of faults occur in PTL can reduce the duration of the outage by making easier to find the fault location. In this study, more accurate detection of location of faults occur in PTLs incorporated in Van Regional Directorate of Turkish Electricity Transmission Co. (TEİAŞ) is aimed. For this aim, methods of detection of location of faults in PTLs are examined and simulation of Travelling Wave Fault Location Methods is made. With this study, faults occurred in PTLs incorporated in Van Regional Directorate of TEİAŞ are examined and two fault samples are simulated using MATLAB-SIMULINK with Travelling Wave Fault Location Methods and Wavelet Transform (WT). As a result, while fault location estimation of the protective relays that use Impedance Based Methods have accuracy between 1% and 4%, fault location estimation of simulations in this study that use Travelling Wave Fault Location Methods have accuracy between %0,07 and %0,1.
