Investigation of life quality of your disabilities: Kahramanmaraş sample

Disability is a situation which happens by negativity occuring in one or more physical,mental or psychological heathy conditions and affectivy the disableds and their close relatives life negatively. Although there are lots of researches done related to the disableds, researches related to close relatives of the disableds are insufficient. Therefore, our study is done with the aim of review of the disabled's relatives in the first remove's quality of life who take, care of them and with the aim of determination of the factors affecting their quality of life. The research is done by 254 the disabled's close relatives taking care of the disabled and being at the different ages from 18 to 55, applying with "The Disabled Health Raport" for Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation" which is in one of Kahramanmaraş's center counties and being visited the house from july to august. Demographic form in which informations related to the disabled's disability, demographic characteristics of caretakers take part and The Word Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Brief Form with the aim of determination of the disabled's close relative's quality of life are used. The effect of Demographic's characteristics to quality of life is researched statistically. Age, gender, education level, closeness level to the disabled of the disabled's relatives in the first remove taking care of disabled, the disabled's disability type, whether or not the close relatives take economical assistance instead of the disabled, life area and economical situation are factors affecting to the quality of life. Demographic characteristics of the disabled's close relatives and disability type affect the life quality of the disabled's close relatives. The disabled's disability rate and age don't affect the caretakers quality of life.
