Özet (EN)

In this study, it is aimed to provide information to the practitioners about the adaptation ability of natural species in Trabzon, Epigaea gaultherioides(Boiss. & Bal.)Takht. For this purpose, three studies were conducted. In the first study, the germination success of Epigaea gaultherioides seeds obtained from 2 different altitudes (1820m, 1960m) in greenhouse conditions and in different growing environments was investigated. For this purpose, the seeds were left to germinate in Peat+Soil+Sand (4:4:2), Peat+Soil (7:3), Peat+Sand(7:3), Soil+Sand (7:3) growing medium mixtures. No germination was observed in the growing mediums after 60 days of observations. In the second study, the effect of different growth hormones applied in different doses on the rooting of the semi-hardwood cuttings of Epigaea gaultherioides was investigated. For this purpose, cuttings treated with 2000, 4000, 5000, 6000 and 8000 ppm doses of IBA, IAA, NAA growth hormones are left to rooting in greenhouse conditions and perlite growing medium. Callus formation and rooting in the cuttings were not observed. In the third study, the adaptability of the Epigaea gaultherioides plants taken from natural habitats was investigated in Trabzon city conditions. For this purpose, Natural Medium Soil, Soil, Soil+Sand (7:3), Soil+Peat (7:3) and Soil+Peat+Sand (4:4:2) growing medium mixtures are transferred to the containers in the Sun and Semi-Shade growing areas. During the vegetation period of plants, leaf numbers, plant sizes, covering areas and chlorophyll amounts in leaves were observed. At the end of the study, it was determined that the plants in the Semi-Shade growing area showed better development. The best results were seen in plants in Soil+Peat+Sand growing medium in the Semi-Shade growing area.Areas where Epigaea gaultherioides can be used for aesthetic and functional purposes in landscape architecture have been determined and suggestions have been presented for their use in these areas.
