Development of reality therapy based program for adolescent-parent conflicts

The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of 7 session Reality Therapy Parent-Adolescent Relationship Development Program (GEIP) which was developed reducing parent-adolescent conflict and increasing adolescents well-being. The research is a 2×3 split plot desing. Qualitative data was used to explain the quantitative data in the research. The study was completed with 11 adolescents in the experimental group 11 (6 male, 5 female) and control group11 (6 male, 5 female). In the study data were collected with Adolescent-Parent Conflict Scale and EPOCH Adolescent Well-Being Scale and Personal Information Questionnaire. According to the results of the research, it has been determined that GEIP is effective in reducing adolescent-parent conflicts and this effect is continued. In the study, a difference was found in adolescent well-being according to post-test measurements. It was observed that this difference resulted from the decrease in adolescent well-being levels of the control group. There was no difference between the experimental and control groups in the follow-up measure of adolescent well-being. According to these results, it has been determined that GEIP is not effective in increasing adolescent well-being. These results of research were discussed.
