Abstract (EN)

With the COVID-19 pandemic, many changes have emerged that affect the lives of individuals. With the measures taken during the pandemic, the routines of adolescents have been disrupted and their lifestyles have changed. This change may affect adolescents' phobic reactions and sleep quality. In this study, it was aimed to determine the relationship of adolescents' COVID-19 phobia with sleep quality. This descriptive and relationship-seeking study was conducted in public high schools in Kırşehir. The data of the study were collected between 20.01.2021 and 24.02.2021 using the "Student Information Form", "Coronavirus 19 Phobia Scale" and "Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index". The research was conducted with 406 high school students. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality total score average of the adolescents participating in the study was 5.97±3.53, and the total score average of 'Coronavirus 19 Phobia' was 46.97±13.59. It was determined that 49.5% of the adolescents had poor sleep quality. Adolescents have low sleep quality and high COVID-19 phobias. Those who perceive their academic success poorly, have a large family, have anemia, stomach or intestinal disorders, have menstrual problems, use drugs constantly, use internet/social media for 5 hours or more per day, sleep after 22:00 on weekdays and weekends The sleep quality of adolescents who had one of their friends had COVID-19 was found to be worse. The sleep quality of the adolescents who went to vocational and technical Anatolian high school was found to be better. Adolescents whose mother's education level and father's education level are secondary school, who have 3 or more siblings, whose family income is less than their income, and who do not do sports/exercise have been found to have higher COVID-19 phobias. In addition, adolescents who are female, feel stressed due to COVID-19, think that nothing will be the same as before due to COVID-19, have high COVID-19 phobias and low sleep quality. Adolescents have low sleep quality and high COVID-19 phobias. It has been determined that COVID-19 phobia and sleep quality affect each other.
