Abstract (EN)
This study investigated the relationships between adolescents? types of attachment and subjective well-being and their expectations for social self-efficiency, and whether these relationships change according to some demographic variables.This study was carried out in the diferent departments of the Fatih Teacher Training Faculty of Karadeniz Technical University in the 2009?2010 educational year. The sample contained a total of 1870 first year students,1173 of whom were female and 697 of whom male. The sample was selected randomly.In order to find out about the adolescents? types of attachment, the study employed the ?Scale for Views about Parents?; about the expectations for social self-efficiency, the ?Expectations for Social Self-Efficiencey Scale for Adolescents?; about the subjective well-being, the ?Subjective Well-Being Scale for Adolescent?, and about some dempgraphic variables, the ?Personal İnformation Form?.The findings of the study can be summarized as follows: There is a significant positive relationship between the perceived type of attachment and the expectations for social self-efficiency. Similarly, there is a significant positive relationship between the level of attachment and subjective well-being. There are significant positive relationships between fearless attachment and such factors as positive and negative feelings, aims, self-confidence, optimism, favoure activities, friendships, looking ahead, family relations, and coping with life?s problems. No significant relationship was found between pessimism and fearless attachment.Based on the demographic variables, the study found that there are significant positive relationships between the adolescents? types of attachment, and subjective well-being and expectations for social self-efficiency.Key Words: Attachment, social self-efficiency, subjective well-being
