Özet (EN)
This study aims to examine the effects of ergonomic risk factors in office environments on occupational health and safety using a multidimensional approach. The reflections of physical, environmental, and psychosocial risks commonly encountered in offices on the health status, work performance, and general well-being of employees have been evaluated. Ergonomically unsuitable working conditions have been addressed within the framework of literature findings, particularly those causing musculoskeletal disorders, visual fatigue, mental exhaustion, and increased stress levels. Within the scope of the research, environmental factors such as the ergonomic design of work areas, seating arrangements, working conditions with screen-based tools, lighting, ventilation, noise, climate control, and colour use were analysed from an occupational health and safety perspective. In addition, the effects of repetitive movements and prolonged static postures on worker health were examined, and preventive and remedial practices aimed at reducing ergonomic risks were included. Within the scope of psychosocial risk factors, the importance of workload, break schedules, stress management, and supportive work environments has been emphasized. The study also evaluated the importance of emergency management, fire safety, first aid facilities, and occupational health and safety training for employees in office environments. The findings reveal that office environments designed in accordance with ergonomic principles protect employee health, reduce the incidence of occupational accidents and diseases, and consequently increase work productivity. In conclusion, it is assessed that occupational health and safety practices based on ergonomics and compliant with legal regulations play a critical role in both employee satisfaction and the sustainability of businesses.
