The hadith of Arikah (Critisisme of sanad and text criticism)

Although the meaning of the word "Erîke" is not understood at first sight, it essentially comes to meanings such as seats, throne and divan in Arabic. The reason that this hadith, which will be examined for reliability, is expressed by this name is that the word is common in all of the Hadiths narrated. There are different variants of this hadith, narrated by six diverse companions of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh), concerning her power of judgment "teşrî'" and obedience to him. In the following historical process, these narratives have increased by branching. In this study, these narratives were examined in terms of the sanad and text, and determinations were made at the point of belonging of the Hadith to the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh). In the first part of the study, the hadith sanad was examined in detail. General sanad diagrams which includes both narratives in the context of companion narratives as well as all the narratives are presented in the relevant parts. Later, the narrators in these chains (sanad) were examined one by one for cerh and taʻdîl and it was determined whether they were strong, in the sense of reliability of the narrators, or weak. Subsequently, the sanads were examined according to its continuity, number of sanads, its first source and reliability and then necessary determinations were made. In the second part of the study, this narratives which were examined in terms of their sanads, were presented together with their original and translated texts. The least common denominator of these narratives have been determined, attention has been drawn to the differences in the narratives and as a result these narrations have been integrated. At the end of the second part these narratives whose sanad and text criticism have been made and the provisions they contain were presented with different criteria. In the final section, both the sanad as well as the text review were carried out and the results of this hadith have been pointed out in regard of various criteria, in particular the Holy Quran.
