Investigation of the magnetic flux pinning and levitation force properties produced with melting method of bulk superconductor (Sm123)1-x(Yb211)x composition

Abstract (EN)

In this study, the pinning and levitation force properties of bulk superconductor (Sm123)1-x(Yb211)x composition, produced with melting method depending on changing on Yb211 doping ratio were investigated.Structural properties of the superconductor samples which produced in different doping levels (x=0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25 and 0.35) were determined by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction analysis and optical light microscopy while electrical and magnetic properties by the R-T and M-H measurements by means of physical properties measurement system. The magnetic levitation force measurements were determined by magnetic levitation force measurement system, while critical current densities (Jc) were determined from the magnetization measurements.Optical imaging revealed that the amount of the intergranular spaces decreases and crystal-orientation increases. Critical current densities (Jc) determined from the magnetization measurements were estimated as 5,64x104 and 1,24x105 A/cm2 respectively for doping level x of 0.00 and 0.25. The levitation force measurements in ZFC and FC regime indicated that the magnetic repulsive and attractive force densities increase when the doping level increases. Thereby it was concluded from magnetic levitation force graphics the flux pinning properties of the samples enhances when doping level x increases. This results indicate that magnetic levitation force properties of doped-Sm123 superconductor increases by means of produce with top seeding method of Sm123.
