This study aimed to determine effect of an 8-week elastic resistant band training on isokinetic strenght and service velocity in male tennis players. Tennis players who live in Konya region voluntered for this study. The players choosen randomly and divided into two groups. The mean age of ecperrimental group was 24.14 ± 4.59 year, their heights was 178.29 ± 4.82 cm and their body weight was 75.17 ± 10.43 kg. The mean age of the control group was 24.14 ± 4.59 year, body heights 178.29 ± 4.82 cm and mean body weight was 75.17 ± 10.43 kg. Resistant band training was conducted to experimental group in addition to 8 weeks for three times per week. Control group continued to do routine tennis training. The independet t-test was used to compare differences between the experimental and control groups. To compare scores before and after training, the paired t-test was conducted. Servis velocity of the experimental group was higher in post test than in pretest (p < 0.05). The isokinetic peak tork internal and average power internal at 60°/sec was higher in posttest than in pretest (p<0.05). No significant difference was found between pre- and post-test in experimental group (p>0.05). Also, peak tork internal, average power internal, peak tork external and average power external at 120°/sec and 180°/sec did not significant between pre-and post-test in the experimental group (p>0.05). There was a significant difference in average power external at 90°/sec between pre- and post tests in the experimental group (p>0.05). After the training, the average power external at 90°/sec increased significantly. As a result, it may be said that elastic resistant band training could improve servis velocity in tennis players. The elastic resistant band training could enhance internal and external isokinetic strength of tennis players at only 60°/sec. On the other hand, it can be said that the effect of the elastic resistance training might decrease when angular velocity increases. Key words: İsokinetic strenght, Serve velocity, Resistant Band, Tennis.
