Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to investigation of air quality in the province of Erzurum of the major cities of our country where air pollution occasionally exceed the limit values and the industrial industry didn't developed much. Nevretheless, due to heavy winter conditions, crooked urbanization and the city's position. İn the study, the data were colected from the daily air pollution measurement results published by 5 sataions located in certain parts of the city Environment ad Urban Ministry and the meteorological data from the Directorate General of Meteorology. İn the study were examined 2016-2017 winter season. Stepwise regression analysis was conducted using the SPSS Package program to reveal trends in meteorological parameters with air pollutants and the relationships between them. As a result of this analysis, the dominant independent variable was determined to be the wind speed. In all equations, the wind speed had a decreasing effect on pollution concentrations. Correlation analyzes were performed with the same program help and this analyzes are shown graphically. İn conclusion, The main source of air pollution in the province of Erzurum was determined to be derived from solid and liquid fossil fuels and exhaust gases used for heating purposes. Appropriate air pollution management plans and action strategies should be developed In order to eliminate all the factors that guide and increase the pollution in Erzurum.
