Abstract (EN)
In 1999 and 2000, this study was conducted to determine Fusarium species from base of stem on wheat, their cultural and morphological characteristics, pathogenicity in Erzurum. At the result of isolation studies, 468 Fusarium isolates were obtained totally. These isolates (with the percent of species in brackets) are been made up of F. acuminatum (34.8%), F. equiseti (32.3%), F. nivale (14.9%), F. oxysporum (16.8%), F. solani (0.4%) and F. tabacinum (0.6%). This is the first report of F. nivale and F. tabacinum from wheat in Turkey. In pathogenicity tests on wheat (cv. Kirik), the highest disease severity was caused by isolates of F. nivale, whereas isolates of F. acuminatum, F. equiseti, F. oxysporum and F. solani were moderately virulent. Isolates of F. tabacinum were nonpathogenic.
