Effects of site conditions on growth of scots pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) afforestation in the Erzurum

Abstract (EN)

In this study; The effects of growth conditions of Pinus sylvestris L. on the growth conditions of the Erzurum region were investigated. The research area includes the scots pine areas of Erzurum Forestry Directorate, Erzurum Forest Management Directorate and the current age of 30 in Abdurrahmangazi, Palandöken, Aziziyen and Yakutiye areas within Erzurum Forest Management Concession. In the study, test areas were taken as 20 x 20 m and 10 repeated in each square, and various measurements and fixtures were made in these sample plots. In each sample plot, 40 trees were measured in four replications, 10 in each replicate. The tillers and chest diameters (d1.30) of these trees were measured, and the percentages of living trees in the sample areas were determined. Physiographic features such as elevation, slope and elevation were determined in the sample plots. In addition, in order to determine the edaphic features, soil profiles were opened, 12 soil profiles were opened from four quadrants as 3 repeats in each sample area taken according to 0-20 cm depth step and at least 2 kg of undisturbed soil samples were taken from each horizon according to their horizons. Soil analysis, soil texture, pH, salt, lime and organic matter values were determined. Within the scope of the study, factor analysis was applied to determine the most important factors that could have an impact on the success of the scots pine plantation studies. As a result of the factor analysis, it has been determined that growth environment conditions have effects on growth, physiographic conditions, edaphic conditions, soil reaction, plant nutrient and climatic factors. Based on the results of factor analysis, a total of 5 factors with a score greater than 1 were reconstructed. According to this new factor order, the first factor alone accounts for 45.63% of the total variance and the first and second factors together account for 63.89%. A total of 5 new factors explain 92.64% of the total variance. According to the results of Factor Analysis, it was found that the amount of brow, slope, elevation, soil pH, texture and organic matter were effective at 92.64% confidence level on tree size, chest diameter growth and height increase. According to these findings, 5 factors which are effective on the development of the scots pine individuals were determined in the scots pine plantations.
