Determining of plant diversity changes depending on site factors at esenli̇ (Gi̇resun) forest enterprise

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine changes of plant diversity depending on site factors in the forests at Esenli (Giresun) Forest Enterprise. Within this framework, we sampled 20 plots according to Braun – Blanquet method. Hierarchical clustering and DCA analysis were made with the data of these sample plots. As a result of these analysis, 4 different plant communities were determined including Oriental Spruce which naturally grown. Furthermore, data related to physiographic and edaphic factors obtained from sample plots. Soil texture, pH, plant available water capacity and organic matter content were determined. The textures of the soils in the study area was generally sandy, pH values of plant communities ranged from 4,66 to 6,78. Highest plant available water capacity was determined in Picea orientalis community as % 9,38 (4,56-36,41). Highest organic matter values were determined at the Picea orientalis and Fagus orientalis – Picea orientalis communities. CCA analysis was performed for determining the relationship between ecological factors and plant communities. According to analysis results, organic matter, pH and altitude had important effects on formation of plant species composition. Plant diversity indices were calculated for each sample plot. Plant diversity values changed with altitude and aspect.
