Vague data enveloping analysis in activity evaluation: An application in oral and dental health centers in Central Anatolia

Organisations are required to evaluate their activities using accurate analysis in order to sustain their existence in the competition environment. One of those methods to be used to evaluate their activities is the Data Enveloping Analysis. In order for the Data Enveloping Analysis to give accurate and precise information, the inputs and the outputs are obliged to be entered flawlessly. Data Enveloping Analysis cause inaccurate results within the organisations such as hospitals the aim of which is public service and the inputs and the outputs of which are unclear. Therefore, Vague Data Enveloping Analysis which is more sensitive to mistakes is used within such organisations. This study defines the Health notion as well as the concepts related to Oral and Dental Health, Data Enveloping Analysis, Fuzzy Logic and Fuzzy VZA. Within this quantitative study, Oral and Dental Health Centers located in the Middle Anatolian Region of Turkey have been examined. Since the inputs and the outputs of these centers are imprecise, Vague Data Enveloping Analysis method has been used. Using this method, it has been aimed to evaluate whether the Oral and Dental Health Centers in the Middle Anatolian Region of Turkey have been able to work efficiently.
