Abstract (EN)
This thesis, titled "An Evaluation of the Potential of Event Tourism in the TR21 Region in Terms of the Contribution of Organized Events to Regional Tourism," aims to present the event tourism potential of the TR21 Region, as identified in previous research, contribute to its further development, and encourage its effective utilization by regional stakeholder institutions and organizations. The study first discusses the concepts of event tourism and destination, then provides the conceptual framework of events organized in the TR21 Region. A mixed-method research design was employed. In the qualitative phase, data were collected through interviews, while in the quantitative phase, data were obtained via surveys. In accordance with the study's objectives, the interview and survey questions were developed based on expert opinions. According to the research findings, events organized in the TR21 Region significantly contribute to the promotion and tourist appeal of the area by highlighting regional values, fostering the recognition of cultural heritage, and emphasizing the distinctive features of the destination.
