Evaluation Of Physician-Patient Communication in Health Facilities in Terms of Quality and Factors Affecting Communication Communication between doctor and patient is a very important component of patient care. Good doctor-patient communication has many positive effects on various aspects of health outcomes, such as increased patient satisfaction, improved doctor-patient relationship, and reduced risks and litigation. Increasing distrust of the medical profession among people, increasing complaints, allegations of malpractice against doctors, and cases of conflict between doctors and patients demonstrate the importance of good doctor-patient communication. This study has been prepared in order to reveal the quality of communication between the doctor and the patient working in public hospitals in the city center of Elazig, to determine the factors affecting communication and to offer solutions. In line with the determined purpose, the sample of this study was limited to 127 doctors and 255 patients working in public hospitals in the city center of Elazig. In this study, the "Physician-Patient Communication Scale" developed by İş (2019) was used for doctors and patients. Number, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used as descriptive statistical methods in the evaluation of the data. As a result of the research, 27% of the doctors think that they have difficulty communicating with the patient, 32.2% think that the communication between the patient and the doctor is not sufficient, 44.1% think that they will experience negativity while communicating with the patient, 60% of the doctors think that the environment they are in is not understood by the patients and their relatives, They stated that 76.2% of them were unfairly accused by the patients and their relatives, 42.5% of them had communication problems due to economic conditions, 83.4% of them stated that the working environment was an obstacle to communicating with the patient, 50.3% of them were not held seminars and conferences related to communication. 73.0% of the patients said that it is important for the doctors to call them by name in terms of communication, 32.1% of the patients did not communicate effectively with the patients, 27.1% did not speak to the doctors in a clear language, 69.0% said that the doctors exhibited positive or negative behaviors. They affect positive or negative behaviors towards doctors, 14.5% of the patients share a negative opinion towards healthcare personnel, 52.9% of them state that doctors treat some patients with privilege, 22.8% of patients state that doctors do not treat their patients well, 37.2% of them state that doctors do not treat their patients well. They do not give enough information about the patients, 22.0% do not show enough respect towards the patients, 24.3% do not value the patients, 26.3% do not have a friendly attitude towards the patients, 45.6% spend the time allocated for the doctor's examinations. They stated that they did not find it sufficient. As a result, from the point of view of the patient, where there is a double-sided effect in the doctor-patient relationship, the doctors expect interest, trust, spare time, information and good communication skills from the doctors, while the doctors, patients and their relatives say that the process of healing the disease is a long and comprehensive process, but with time and opportunities. stated that it is necessary to know that it can be achieved.
