Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted as a descriptive study in order to determine the prevalence of pressure injury in home care patients and the risk factors affecting its occurrence. The research was carried out with 170 home care patients who were registered to Lüleburgaz State Hospital home care service between 30.11.2021 and 31.05.2023 and met the inclusion criteria. The data were collected face to face with the help of the Patient Evaluation Form. 62.4% of the patients with a mean age of 77.76±11.23 (Min:26, Max:99 years) were woman. In the study, the incidence of pressure injuries was found to be 33.5%. The incidence of pressure injury was found to be statistically significantly higher in patients younger than 75 years of age (p=0.043), weak and with normal BMI (p=0.009). The incidence of pressure injury was found to be lower in those who were oriented according to GCS (p=0.000). There was no statistically significant difference between the presence of pressure injury and the patient's gender, education status, marital status, income, presence of systemic or chronic disease, continuous drug use, type of drug used, and duration of home care service (p>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the presence of pressure injury and the caregiver's gender, age, education level and proximity (p>0.05). It is recommended to provide team service to home care patients with a multidisciplinary approach, and to increase the number of preventive trainings to be given to caregivers in terms of risk factors.
