The concept of society in Fârâbî and Ibn-i Khaldûn

The aim of this study is to analyze in detail the philosophical foundations of the concepts of man and society and how these foundations have transformed over time. In particular, the effects of Farabi and Ibn Khaldun's theories on society on individuals and social structures are examined in the study. The philosophical roots of the concepts of man and society are discussed in the introduction section of the study. The views of ancient philosophers, especially thinkers such as Plato and Aristotle, on human nature and the function of society are discussed as fundamental discussions. In the second section, Farabi's understanding of society is discussed. In the third section, Ibn Khaldun's understanding of society is discussed. In the fourth section, a comparison of Farabi's and Ibn Khaldun's understanding of society and politics is included. In the conclusion section, it is emphasized how philosophical perspectives that address the relationship between society and the individual are effective in areas such as politics, law and economics and how they contribute to understanding the place of the individual in society.
