Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between leg volume and mass with upper extremity muscle strength in handball players playing in different leagues. IBM SPSS 22.0 package program was used in the analysis of the data obtained at the end of the measurements. 14 volunteer male athletes (age: 24.07±6.74 years, height:179.43±27.95 cm, weight: 90.71±) from Tokat Youth Sports Club playing in the Turkish Handball Federation Super League Men's League. 16.18 kg), 12 volunteer male athletes (age: 23.83±4.15 years, height: 181.83±6.21 cm, weight: 84.00±) from Mihalıççık Sports Club in the 1st Division Men's Group A 10.86 kg) and 10 male volunteer athletes (age: 23.60±4.55 years, height:183.60±7.82 cm, weight: 86) from Mersin İdmanyurdu Handball Sports Club in the 2nd Division Men's Group D. A total of 36 volunteer male athletes (80±14.70 kg) participated. The sum of age, body weight, height, hand grip strength, lateral finger strength, fingertip strength, palmar finger strength, shoulder width, shoulder flexibility and waist circumference, thigh volume, calf volume, foot volume and leg volume between the groups participating in the research, There was no significant difference between the variables of thigh mass, calf mass, foot mass and total leg mass (p>0.05). 2nd league team's total leg volume and hand grip strength and shoulder width were positive high (p<0.05), leg mass total and hand grip strength and shoulder width were positive high (p<0.05), 1st league team's leg mass total was high. and shoulder width between positive high (p<0.01), between calf mass and fingertip strength positive moderate (p<0.05); In the Super League team, a positive moderate correlation was found between foot volume and lateral finger strength (p<0.05), a moderate positive correlation between foot mass and hand grip strength (p<0.05), and a moderately positive correlation between thigh volume and hand grip strength (p). <0.05). As a result, no significant difference was found between all the variables of the teams participating in the study (p>0.05). A significant relationship was found between the leg volume and leg mass variables of the teams in the Super League, the 1st League and the 2nd League and the upper extremity muscle strength (p<0.05). Keywords: Handball, leg mass, leg volume, hand grip strength, finger strength.
