Abstract (EN)
A Study on Psychological Effects of Different Waterscapes and Relationships of them with the Activities Occuring in that Place When the waterscapes at the open spaces examined, various types of space characteristics being observed. There are different waterscapes in different functioned places like parks, playground or circulation areas. When open spaces are planning, the waterscapes located in empty places to make there more lively. Because of these reasons, dead designs which cause economical damage and don't satisfy psychological necessities of human emerge. The goal of this study is to determine the psychological effects of different waterscapes on human and relationships of them with the activities occuring in that place than according to these to determine some design principles can be used at designing waterscapes to satisfy human psychological necessities and preferences adequately. The theorotical part, phase I involves historical development of water and the role of waterscapes in design. In addition information on researches about water preferences and important results of them were given. In the experimental part, phase II psychological effects of different waterscapes and relationships of them with the activities occuring in that place is investigated by video records with visual questionnairees. In phase HI, which consists of findings and research; as a result of datas obtained from questionnairees, according to analyzes of still and active water the psychological effects were determined. It is also determined that; different waterscapes has different psychological effects on human and there are different preferences of the places that occuring different waterscapes. According to these steps in the last part some suggestions which can be effective at designing waterscapes in open spaces were brought in.
