Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to determine the effect of seed balls prepared by mixing flower soil and forest soil in different ratios on the germination of Scotch pine, black pine, red pine, cedar and spruce seeds. In the study, in which the effect of seed balls on the germination percentage, average germination time and germination rate of seeds was evaluated, germination trials were carried out in a total of 4 different environments as laboratory, greenhouse, nursery and open field conditions and in two different areas in open field environment. As a result of the study, it was determined that the mixtures that are effective on the basis of species vary in laboratory, nursery and greenhouse environments, and generally higher germination rates occur than seed balls prepared with forest soil. It was determined that seed balls were not effective in germination of scotch pine, larch and spruce seeds used in open field experiments compared to controls. Although it varies according to the species in open field conditions, the highest germination ranges between 9.33% and 21.33%. In terms of area, the highest germination occurred in the Genya plot. In the germination experiment performed on red pine seeds according to seed size, it was determined that the size of the seed ball did not affect the germination percentage, and the best results in terms of germination rate and average germination time were obtained with small seed balls.
