Comparative investigation of the different type high school student's attitudes towards the physical education and sport lesson: Example of Erzurum province

In recent years the high school' kind has increased in Turkey. Physical education and sports courses are carried out in all high schools. The aim of this study is; To examine the attitudes of different kinds of high school students towards physical education course in terms of various variables. The study is limited to the types of high schools in Erzurum. In this research model of field scanning as a model has been adopted. The universe of the research; In the 2016-2017 academic year, high school students from different types of high schools and different levels, The sample consists of a total of 1560 high school students from different high school types and grade levels and selected from probabilistic sampling methods using stratified random sampling method. Personal information form prepared by the researcher and his advisor to determine the demographic variables of the students who participated in the research as a data collection tool; Physical Education Attitude Scale developed by Demirhan and Altay was used to measure students' attitudes towards physical education and sports. According to the findings of the study; There was a significant difference between the students' gender, grade level, school type, mother education level and attitude level of physical education course according to p <,05, however, there were no significant differences in terms of father education level and place of residence. As a result, it is observed that all the students in different types of high schools in Erzurum have positive attitudes towards physical education and sports. According to the type of high school students of "Anatolian Imam Hatip High School" attitudes towards physical education and sports course is observed to be at the most positive attitude level compared to other high school types.
