Abstract (EN)

The concepts of performance based design and calculation of earthquake behavior and seismic performance of structures that emerged compared to earthquake history of civilization have recently become a very important research topic in terms of civil engineering today. This thesis study aimed to reveal the effects of different soil conditions and different building behavior coefficients on the building performance. For this purpose Çeltiksuyu Regional Primary Boarding School, which was collapsed during the Bingöl earthquake of 1 May 2003, was chosen as a sample building. Static adaptive pushover analysis method is used when building performance is calculated. In the study, different soil conditions were described according to Turkish Seismic Code (2007) and the analysis was performed by taking spectral acceleration values with different building behavior coefficients. Eight separate numerical calculations were made for the result of analysis as Z1-R4, Z2-R4, Z3-R4, Z4-R4 and Z1-R8, Z2-R8, Z3-R8 and Z4-R8. As a result of these calculations, it is aimed to determine the effects of soil conditions and structural behavior factor on the structure performance.
