Abstract (EN)

Feminism, which can be defined as "women's movements" in the simplest terms, is a concept thata lot of people has expressed an opinion about up to today, both as a stream of thought and as a form of action and also as an institution. Inparticular, the institutionalization of it in the historical process has been the subject of numerous and various studies in the field of social sciences and this led it togive a different dimension to these works. In its contribution to the fields of social science, it has been closely related to field of literature. The studies that are called as feminist literary criticism have been concerned with 'women' which is a subject of feminism in its own field. Accordingly, the aim is to criticise women represantation in terms of feminist institutions in Dede Korkut's book, which is one of the most competent and efficient works of Turkish Language and Literature in terms of both language and literature, and the purpose of this critism is to bring a different interdisciplinary interpretation to the studies about women in Dede Korkut's book. In this context, a literature research was done on the book of Dede Korkut and Feminism and a methodological framework was formed. In the light of the findings, this study is divided in to three main sections. The introduction part includes the topic, the aim, method of the study and the extent and limitedness. In the second part, feminism is examined conceptually, historically and institutionally and feminism-folklore relationship is mentioned. In the third part, after giving information about women in Turkish culture and Dede Korkut's book, a general evaluation of the studies about women in Dede Korkut's book was made. In the fourth and last part, in line with the discourse of feminist theories, women and their representations were interpreted in the Dede Korkut's book. In Dede Korkut's book, it is determined that women are not equal to men due to the social roles that are put on women and women are deprived of her rights that are demanded by feminism for the women.
