Abstract (EN)
In this study, the views of science, information technology and secondary school mathematics teachers who received coding education on coding education were investigated. As a data collection tool in the research, the Teacher Opinions scale on Coding Teaching at Secondary School Level, developed by Uzunboylar (2017), was used. In the study, qualitative and quantitative data were collected from the participants through a questionnaire. In the research, the feedback received through the questionnaire was classified according to the demographic characteristics of the participants, and the relevant frequencies and percentages were evaluated using descriptive statistics. In order to determine the differences regarding the demographic characteristics of the participants, the t-test and one-way ANOVA tests were performed in independent groups to examine the differences. In addition, the results were evaluated using the chi-square test to determine the relationship between categorical variables. According to the results of the research conducted on a total of 32 teachers, 15 of whom are science, 10 information technologies and 7 secondary school mathematics teachers, working in the center and districts of Artvin, the following outputs were obtained. * Starting coding education from the pre-school period * Strengthening the infrastructure for coding education in schools * Increasing the course hours in coding education * Revision of traditional courses and strengthening them with computer-aided programs * Dissemination and frequent repetition of coding trainings in order to train expert teachers in their fields. By integrating the findings into the education curriculum, it will be possible to contribute to the professional development of teachers who give coding education and to provide teachers with a versatile working opportunity.
