Second grade pre-service teachers' views about nature of science

The study was conducted to determine nature of science views of pre-service science teachers who are 2nd grade in science education deparment, mathematics and science aducation deparment in faculty of education in Kirsehir Ahi Evran University. Case study which is among qualitative research methods was used with this purpose. The sample of the study consist of 78 pre-service science teachers who study at 2nd grade in 2017-2018 education period in department of science education in Kirsehir Ahi Evran University. As a data collection tool, Opinion Questionnaire on the Nature of Science-Form C (BDHGA-Form C) which developed by Lederman, AbdEl-Khalick, Bell and Schwartz (2002) and Turkish adaptation of which was done by Eroğlu (2012) was used. The scale consisted of 10 open ended questions a pilot study was conducted with 65 pre-service science teachers who study at 2nd grade in 2016-2017 education period the determine understanding of questions and themes and categories which may be formed data were analyzed with content analysis. Acoording to study results preservice science teacher stated that definition of science, features of science and scientific knowledge and they stated that experiments are necessary to product scientific information. In addition, it was seen that pre-service science teachers can't express the diffirence between theory nd law and they have misunderstandings.
