Examining the attitudes oriented towards the teaching profession of science and classroom teachers

This study aims to compare between departments and to examine the attitudes oriented towards the teaching profession of science and classroom teachers in terms of various versions (gender, age range, classroom degree, choice order of department, kind of high school they graduated, whether there is teacher in family or environment or not, family's level of income, educational status of parents, the reason of choosing profession and the place they lived before ). As part of this aim, in 2016-2017 academic year michaelmas term ( I. term), have been studied with 480 teacher candidates who studying in all class levels of Primary Department Science Teaching and Major Field of Study Classroom Teaching at Akdeniz University Education Faculty. In the study , general surveillance model have been used as method. "Personal Information Document" which is prepared by researcher and fivefold likert scale "Attitudes Oriented Towards the Teaching Profession Scale" which is consist of 34 items prepared by Ustüner (2006) haven been applied to teacher candidates who attend to study. According to data which is obtained from the study, It has been reached that the result is generally "positive" level of Science and Classroom teacher candidates of attitudes oriented towards teaching profession. Differences have been found between attitudes oriented towards profession of teacher candidates and other versions.
