Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine science teachers' views on scientific inquiry. 130 science teachers participated in the research. The research is a descriptive survey model. In the research, science teachers were asked about the "Nature of Science Views Scale" and "Scientific Inquiry Opinion Form" (VASI) adapted to Turkish by Karışan et al. (2014) was applied. The answers given on the nature of science views scale were analyzed and the level of science teachers' views on the nature of science was determined as informed, transitory and naive. Views of scientific inquiry were coded as informed, transitory, naive, and unclear. In conclusion, science teachers who have informed nature of science views have informed views on scientific inquiry components. Also, science teachers' nature of science views and scientific inquiry views are generally at a moderate level. It was determined that the participants had higher percentages of "naive" level in the component of "research results must be consistent with the collected data", "transitory" level in the component "scientific data and scientific evidence are not the same thing", and "informed" level in other components, among the scientific inquiry components.
