Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of computer assisted gaming activities on student achievement, attitudes and the effects of these gaming activities on remediation of the misconceptions in teaching of "Force and Movement" at unit of 6th grade Science Course. The research has been carried out during the first semester of 2014/2015 academic year. The research group of this study is the 6th grade students who are studying at a secondary school in the province of Besni in Adıyaman province. The dependent variables in the research are the students' achievements towards the Force and Movement unit, attitudes towards the science lesson, and misconceptions about the Force and Movement unit. Moreover, the independent variable is the applied teaching method. Data collection tools are formed by achievement tests, attitude scales and misconceptions tests. In data analysis; t-test and one-way analysis of variance were used to determine the relationship between statistics (mean frequency and percentile) complementing success, attitude, and misconceptions tests. The results of the analysis showed that the effect of computer-based gaming activities are significant on the success of 6th grade students, their attitudes towards science lessons and the impact of misguided misconceptions.
