Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of Web 2.0 applications and technology aided science lessons on attitudes of sixth grade secondary school students towards technology use and science. One of the quantitative research methods, pretest-posttest quasi experimental design was used in the study and it was carried out during the spring term of 2017/2018 academic year in one of the boarding schools located in the centre of Kars province. Convenience sampling method was used to determine the study group which was composed of 48 (24 for experimental group, 24 for control group) six grade students. During the study, secondary school science lesson units 'Light and Sound' which lasted for 3 weeks (12 lessons) and 'Reproduction, Growth, Development in Animals and Plants' which lasted for 4 weeks (16 lessons) were handled. In total, the study lasted for 7 weeks (28 lessons). In order to find out the attitudes of students towards science, 'Science Attitude Scale' was used and for their attitudes towards technology use in Science lessons 'Technology Attitude Scale' was used as data collection tool. According to results of the study, it is found out that teaching science using Web 2.0 applications has a positive effect on student attitude towards technology use and science. Suggestions have been made for further research on this subject according to the findings of the study.
