The analysis of the level of learners autonomy support of Science and Technology teachers

It can be said that the society who can give their own decisions will be independent and democratic. When the student is autonomous, he / she can absorb the learning and be successful. Teachers must support the learners' autonomy. This research aimed for determining the levels of learner autonomy support of science and technology teachers. The population of the research includes the science and technology teachers in formal schools. The sample of the study is constituted of 68 science and technology teachers in Yeşilyurt Discrict of Malatya. The date have been gained by trying to describe answers given in "Learner's Autonomy Support Scale" by using survey model. Data is analyzed by the descriptive statics, Kolmogorov- Smirnov, Anova and Pearson Correlation techniques in SPSS 23.0 packet program. According to the findings, teachers percieve "Emotion and Thought Support" necessary and also they perform. A meaningful difference hasnot been found between teachers' view and sex, length of service, graduation and gradutation area. Yet, there is a positive and lower level correlation between teachers' percieving the learners' autonomy necessary and performing it. Teacher percieve necessary to support autonomy but they perform it less. Teachers must be given applyingly in-service trainings related to autonomy support. Candidate teachers must be given more applying lessons for supporting learners' autonomy.
