The assessment of financial consumers financial literacy atitutes and behaviors

Along with the beginning of the financial liberalization period, the financial products and instruments have diversified in the market and the financial literacy level of the individuals has gained importance. The level of financial literacy that influences individual investment decisions creates motivation in this study. This study is carried out on civil servants and municipal employees that are still active in Adana-Cukurova Municipality. The sample size of this study consists of 320 people. Datasets are analyzed by SPSS 20 packet program. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the financial profile variables such as participants' decisions on investment instruments and the frequency of knowing and using financial investments. In the result of this analysis, it is seen that according to participans' answers, the most used financial product is credit card and micro financial credits are the least used financial product. It is seen that participans prefer to keep savings about money in their accounts. Beside that it is revealed that participans dominate issues about inflation, diversification, money's time value.
