Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the physical activity and work motivation. A total of 384 volunteers aged between 18-65 years, 190 women (38 ± 7.81 years) and 194 men (38.55 ± 8.05 years), who were at least one month of regular physical activity, participated in the study. Descriptive scanning method was used in the study. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations were taken as reference for the assessment of physical activity level with the information form prepared by the researcher with socio-demographic characteristics. The Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS) developed in 2010 by Gagne, Forest, Gilbert, Aube, Morin and Malorni was used to determine the level of work motivation of the participants. As statistical analysis, Kolmogorov Smirnov, Mann Whitney U, Kruksall Wallis H, Dwass Steel Critchlow Flinger test and Spearmen's Rho Correlation were used and significance level was taken as p <0.05. As a result of the study, a conclusion reached that 51.04% (n=196) of the participants were 2 days and below, 48.96% (n = 188) of 3 days and above, 42.19% (n=162) of 149 minutes and below, 57.81% (n=222) of 150 minutes and above make activities. The intrinsic motivation subscale varies according to the type of physical activity in women (p<0.042); non motivated subscale was found to be higher in women working 45 hours and over (p<0.047). There was no significant relationship between the participants' duration and frequency of participation physical activity according to gender, time and area of physical activity and sub-dimensions of job motivation (p>0.05). As a result of this study, it is seen that the participants did not comply with the WHO recommendations, however, the intrinsic motivation sub-dimension differs only in terms of the type of physical activity among women. The conclusion reached that participants' not adapting to the physical activity suggestions affected the motivation sub-dimensions.
