Analysis of trust, identification and loyalty levels of football fans teams

Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to examine the trust, identification and loyalty levels of football fans to their teams. Easy sampling technique was used in the study. The research group; A total of 502 Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray fans, 172 women and 330 men, in Turkey. Group formation was carried out by convenient (accidental) sampling method, which is one of the non-random sampling methods. In the data collection tool, individuals; "Personal Information Form" for demographic information, "Sports Club Confidence Scale" developed by Açak and Karademir (2019) to determine the confidence of the fans, Turkish version developed by Wann and Branscombe (1993) to determine the levels of identification, Günay and Tiryaki (2003) The "Sports Supporter Identification Scale" was used to measure loyalty levels, and the "Team Loyalty Scale" modified by Jung (2012) and adapted into Turkish by Polat, Sönmezoğlu, Yıldız, and Çoknaz (2019). The questionnaire forms to be used in the research were delivered to the individuals by the researcher using the online questionnaire method. The data obtained in the research were analyzed in the computer environment through the SPSS program. When the findings are evaluated, as a result, the marital status variable of the fans, the education status of the fans, the variable of watching the match of the fans, the variable of watching the match of the fans, the dependent variables with the age variable, the results of the correlation test, the trust in the coach, the trust in the president sub-dimension and identification with the team. There was no statistically significant relationship between the sub-dimension of trust in the athlete and the sub-dimensions of identification with the team. While there was no statistically significant difference between the supporters of Beşiktaş and those who supported Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, it was determined that there was a significant difference between Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray fans. In the sub-dimension of identification with the team, it is seen that there is a difference between the fans who support Fenerbahce and those who support Galatasaray. A statistically significant difference was found in the sub-dimensions of trust in the coach, identification with the team, behavioral loyalty and attitudinal loyalty of the supporters' team variable, gender variable, Fans' watching the match variable, trust in the club, identification with the team and team loyalty levels. 2021,66 pages Keywords: Trusty, loyalty, football, supporter, identification
