Economic growth and employment relationship in g8 countries and Turkey: Panel data analysis

The purpose of this research is to describe the relationship between the G-8 countries and Turkey's employment and economic growth. In this research, the definition and measurement of economic growth, basic determinants and theories, the definition and types of employment and employment are explained and the employment and economic growth data of the countries between 2005-2017 are analyzed. Within this study, between the years 2005-2017 G-8 countries and Turkey's employment and economic growth relationship, were examined by the panel data analysis and time series analysis. The results of the Johansen Co-integration test for G-8 countries showed a long-term relationship between employment and economic growth. As a result of the research, the G-8 countries and the Engle-Granger causality test for Turkey, between variables have been identified causality, it was found bidirectional causality between the employment rate and growth rate. The increase in economic growth rates increases employment rates, while the increase in employment rates increases economic growth rates and "there is a causal relationship between the variables".
