Dependence of the galactic model parameters on the sky survey programs

Abstract (EN)

In this master thesis, we derived galactic model parameters for a 10 deg2, intermediate Galactic latituded field by using photometric data of main sequence stars obtained from SDSS and 2MASS catalogs. Three-component Galactic model parameters are calculated within three absolute magnitude intervals for F8 to K5 spectral types. By considering the theoretical model parameters that best fit the observational density profiles, we estimated the scale height and scale length of the thin disk, respectively, in the 198 ≤ HZ1 ≤ 221 pc and 2.20 ≤ hR1 ≤ 2.91 kpc intervals. For the thick disk, the local space density around the Sun, scale height and scale length values are estimated respectively, 4.60 ≤ n2 (%) ≤ 9.21, 616 ≤ HZ2 ≤ 678 pc and 1.89 ≤ hR2 ≤ 2.11 kpc. The local space density around the Sun and the power-law index of the halo are 0.07 ≤ n3 (%) ≤ 0.09 and 0.690 ≤ κ ≤ 0.824. There is no significant degeneracy be detected while determining the model parameters. The reason of the thick disk's space density for different absolute magnitude intervals determined within a wide range is that more than half of the thick disk stars within the 4 < Mg ≤ 5 absolute magnitude interval are evolved stars.
