Abstract (EN)

The subject of this dissertation is Galata Mawlawilodge gravestones. The Mawlawi order: "tarîkat-ı 'aliyye-yi Mevlevîye, tarîkat-ı 'aliyye-yi hazret-i Mevlânâ, tarîkat-ı hazret-i Mevlevîye" was established and spread in the second half of XIII. Century and the Galata Mawlawilodge can be considered as the first systematic structure of the order in the capital: İstanbul. It is accepted that the order's bonds with the state became official after the XVII century and although the center of the tariqah was in Konya; İstanbul mawlawiyyah increase dits significance since Konya mawlawiyya built an opposition to reforms and fell fromits prestigious position. Galata Mawlawilodge tombstones which are scrutinized in this study are one of the historical sources left from a for ementioned sufi order. The tombstones are as important as other literary sources of the order/tariqah since they are like recorded memory of the lodge and İstanbul mawlawiyya. In the study, it is aimed to gain an idea about the lodge from the aspect of tombstone inscriptions as well as recording this source to literature again stany danger of damage or disappearance and contributing to further researches with the evaluations of these sources.
