Representation of reality in 'garip' poetry

Abstract (EN)
Garip poem is one of the important turning points of Turkish poetry. Garip movement, represented by Orhan Veli Kanık, Oktay Rifat Horozcu and Melih Cevdet Anday, had a significant impact on Turkish poetry with the innovations they brought to poetry. Turkish poetry has been enriched with new forms and utterance opportunities with the Garip movement, and has been opened to the sensitivity of the people in the street. In the Introduction part of the study, reality, the relationship between literature and reality, and reality in Turkish literature were examined. In the first part, the 'Garip' movement and its artists are centered. In the second part, the representation of reality in the poem 'Garip' was examined and the world of words and images in the poems was analyzed. In the section "Human as an Element of Reality in Garip Poetry", the Garip poem is based on human; evaluated in terms of human and reality. With the data obtained, this section has been classified under three subheadings: 'Man as an Individual' with nine subheadings, 'Society and Human' with seven subheadings, and 'Subconscious and Human' with three subheadings. In the section calleed "Elements of Reality Remaining Apart from Human in Garip Poetry" the concepts and elements other than "human" were examined and fifty five words under four subheadings(Object Elements, Space Elements, Time Elements, Other Elements) were examined by scanning all Garip poems. In this study, the results obtained by scanning poems about human, society, object perception, vocabulary in the context of the relationship between the poem "Garip" and reality were analyzed.
