The comparasion of Garipneme and Dede Korkut stories in the aspect of reduplications

In this study, the reduplications of Asık Pasha's Garipname which is a work belonging to XIV. century and the reduplications of Dede Korkut Stories which is an anonym work written in XV. century and showing the language characteristics of this century were compared. The aim of this study is to contribute to define the vocabulary of the language of this period which is called Ancient Anatolian Turkish. In the "Introduction" part in which theorical explanations were given, it is mentioned on how the linguists define these phrases and different naming on reduplications. In this part, how the the reduplications are studied in terms of phonetics and grammar in the studies done on reduplications is explained. The classifications on this subject are explained. In the study part, the reduplications are classified and compared according to meaning relations between their components, the number of components' syllables, the phonetics similarities of components, the sounds at the beginning of the words, the inflection suffixes of the components, the word types of the components, their functions as components in a sentence and the root of the word of the components. At the end of this part, in index the places of reduplications in works are stated one by one and revealed in according to the frequency they are used. In conclusion, the reduplications in the works are revealed as rational and based on the classifications done in study part various evaluations and comments are done.
