Abstract (EN)

Throughout history, human beings have made it a necessity to gather at certain times in certain places in order to exchange and transfer their knowledge and experiences to each other as a result of the necessity of maintaining social life. The phenomenon of shopping in the traditional period is integrated with other functions in the city and takes place in the urban space. This urban space is also a public space; it contains spatial elements that feed the religious, social and cultural activities of the urbanite. In the modern period, the shopping phenomenon is breaking away from the city center and integrating with the spatial elements it creates in itself. The change in this shopping phenomenon occurs as different shopping districts and different public spaces within the city. The phenomenon of shopping in Gaziantep is formed in three different regions as products of the traditional-modern-post-modern period. Although shopping districts may seem unrelated to each other, the phenomenon that keeps these differences together in the city is 'Everyday Life' and its components dec The aim of the study is to provide a different perspective based on the concepts and components of everyday life in order to decipher the physical relationships between shopping places and the city.
