Examining the methods of voice training being applied in traditional Turkish classical music

The aim of this research is to examine the methods of voice trainings given in the departments of voice training of the state conservatories where Training on Traditional Turkish Classical Music is given. The research which has been carried out on the basis of the idea that assessing the contributions of the aims and ways of the technical studies carried out in the lessons of voice training for Traditional Turkish Classical Music, the matter of performing the technical studies consciously and the applications in the conservatories of Traditional Turkish Classical Music on the style and manner of Traditional Turkish Music will provide important benefits is gaining importance in this area with its structure revealing the quality of voice training being carried out. The low quantity of the studies carried out in this area increase its importance more and besides, it aims to shed light on the following studies. The descriptive research methods have been mostly used in this study, the preliminary information has been acquired by scanning various sources about the subject and, following individual interviews, the data on current situation has been reached by conducting questionnaires to the groups formed by the 3rd and 4th graders in the department of voice training of Konya, Diyarbakir and Afyon conservatories and the instructors of voice training. The acquired data has been evaluated in SPSS program via statistical methods, the findings have been presented and interpreted in tables and various conclusions have been reached. It has been seen that the departments of voice training in the conservatories of Traditional Turkish Classical Music teach the voice training lessons with different methods, train through different applications and have different ideas in technical matters and following this study, some suggestions that can contribute developing the style and manner of Traditional Turkish Music in voice training have been made.
