Abstract (EN)

This study aims to reveal the general self-efficacy skills of young people who are members of youth centres and their relationship with decision-making behaviour. It is also to reveal the demographic characteristics affecting self-efficacy skills and decision-making behaviour. Relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used as a method in the study. In the study, it was aimed to determine the relationship between the descriptive characteristics obtained from the participants, the participants' self-efficacy perceptions and decision-making skills. The population of the study consisted of young people who were members of Tunceli 'Youth Centres' affiliated to the 5839 Ministry of Youth and Sports in 2024. The data collected through a face-to-face questionnaire to measure the general self-efficacy and decision-making styles of the students who voluntarily participated in the research consisted of individuals participating in activities and programmes. The sample group was 743 people in total, including men and women between the ages of 18 and 28. The data were analysed in SPSS-25 package programme and the results were given in tables. It was determined that the students' general self-efficacy level and decision-making style data showed normal distribution and parametric analyses were used in the analyses. Independent t test was used for the comparison of paired groups and Anova test was used for the comparison of more than two groups. Pearson Correlation test was applied to determine the relationships between general self-efficacy and decision-making style scale. In addition, regression analysis was performed to determine the effect of general self-efficacy and decision-making style. The general self-efficacy of the participants was determined to be at a medium level. It was determined that the general self-efficacy of women, over 22 years of age, low and medium income and the group whose mother and father's education level was primary and secondary school had higher general self-efficacy. It was determined that the participants' self-esteem behaviour in decision-making was high, careful decision-making behaviour skill was medium, avoidant decision-making, procrastinatory decision-making, panic decision-making behaviour was low. It was concluded that the women who participated in the study had high levels of self-esteem, careful decision-making behaviours, and low levels of avoidant, procrastinatory and panic decision-making behaviours. Those aged 22 and over, those with high income, those with high school and university education, and those with high school and university education had high levels of self-esteem in decision-making, careful decision-making behaviours, and low levels of avoidant and panic decision-making behaviours. A positive relationship was determined between the participants' general self-efficacy levels and decision-making self-esteem behaviour. It was found that the level of self-efficacy had a 65.8% effect on decision-making behaviour. It was determined that the self-efficacy of the participants had a significant positive effect on self-esteem in decision making and careful decision making, while it had a significant negative effect on avoidant decision making, procrastinatory decision making and panic decision making behaviour.
