Abstract (EN)

Developments in the industry over time have brought with them the problem of waste. Waste not only pollutes nature but also has a negative impact on human health. Disposal of waste has become a problem that must be solved both financially and in terms of health. It is also very important in terms of sustainability to evaluate waste in the form of recycling rather than storage. In this study, it is targeted to investigate the effects of expanded perlite on lightweight concrete based on waste marble dust, which is an industrial waste. In this context, the aim was to produce lightweight concrete with low unit weight and improved thermal properties. The study was carried out in 4 stages: supply of samples, production of reference sample, production of lightweight concrete with additives and application of the determined tests to the samples. The expanded perlite: waste marble dust percentage ratios of the produced lightweight concrete samples were determined as 0:100, 5:95, 10:90, 20:80, 40:60. Unit weight, porosity, water absorption (by weight), heat transfer coefficient determination, specific heat capacity, compressive strength and splitting tensile strength tests were applied to the produced samples. As a result of the study, it was seen that lightweight concrete samples with low unit weight and improved heat transfer coefficient could be produced. It was also concluded that the use of waste marble dust in lightweight concrete production is a good solution in the context of waste disposal and recycling.
