Abstract (EN)
Throughout history, it has been observed that arch designs of various sizes and shapes have been applied in the building of the constructions. When the historical structures like mosque, church, madrasah, inn, waterway etc. are examined, it has been seen that the tie bars, which are fixed to the arch and column joints in various shapes and attaching the arch columns to each other, have been used. The tie bar systems used to maintain the stability of the archs play an important role in the survival of the whole structure. In this study, the effect of different tie bar systems used at the stone arches on the general behavior has been investigated. Within the scope of the study, a total of 7 stone arch test specimens -one of them without tie reference, 6 of them having tie fixed in different ways- have been tested under vertical load. The tested samples have been also digitally analyzed using a computer program. The data obtained from the results of the experiments and the data obtained from numerical Numunes have been compared with each other. In the restoration and strengthening studies, the difficulties in applying the tie bar have been investigated and the most appropriate tie bar system has been presented by drawing attention to the mistakes made.
