Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to determine the level of antibiotic residues in honey samples obtained from beekeeping activities in Giresun province and to determine the antibiotic resistance levels of bacteria isolated from bees producing these honeys. For this purpose, 3 repetitive honey and bee samples from 22 different beekeepers were taken under sterile conditions between June and September 2015. The residual levels of honey samples against 21 different antibiotics and the resistance levels of bacteria isolated from bees used in beekeeping activities to 8 different antibiotics were investigated. The highest antibiotic residues detected in honey samples were found at ppb level; SMT: >380, SP: 153,55, TCN: 68, SM: 41,42, SMM: 21,38, QNL: 13,49, DAPS: 8,79, SDM: 8,13, SS: 5,8, STR: 5,38, SX: 4, 88, SQ: 4,32, SMP: 3,72, SMX: 3,69, ST: 3,67, SD: 3,18, SCP: 1,94, TMP: 1,55 and CEFT were determined as 0,43. In addition, TAF and TYL were not detected in the samples. The average antibiotic resistance levels of the bacteria isolated from bees were expressed as %; AMP: 74,6, NA: 30,5, KZ: 54,2, CXM: 23,7, CTX: 22, TE: 5,1 and E: 10,2. All isolates tested were found to be sensitive to AK. In addition, the rate of multiple antibiotic resistance (MAR) in the isolates was 36%. As a result; it can be said that the antibiotic residue levels in the honey samples produced during the beekeeping activities carried out in Giresun are high and the bacteria isolated from the bees producing these honeys have a high level of antibiotic resistance.
