Abstract (EN)

Karadeniz Newspaper is a local newspaper published in Giresun between 22 March-25 July 1919 during the National Struggle Period. The newspaper firstly published by Mehmet Hamdi Bey in 1912 was closed after Mehmet Hamdi Bey was martyred in the Balkan Wars. The newspaper started to be published again in 1919 by Dr. Ali Naci Bey, brother of Mehmet Hamdi Bey. During the same period, Dr. Ali Naci Bey, who was also a member of the Giresun branch of the Trabzon Muhafaza-i Hukuk-ı Milliye Cemiyeti, became a pro-National Struggle and published articles in this direction in the newspaper. Ali Naci Bey represented Giresun by participating in the Erzurum Congress with İbrahim Hamdi as Giresun delegate. The newspaper, which was published as 17 issues in total, was closed by its owner, Dr. Ali Naci Bey, after the Erzurum Congress. The newspaper touched not only on local issues but also on issues that concern the country in general, and published articles on these issues. The newspaper tried to present the situation the country fell into and the prescriptions of salvation from this situation. In this study, the approach of the newspaper to the events is discussed; The news and articles were classified according to the topics and the events reflected in the press of the period were examined.
