Heavy metal pollution in rain water samples along the coastal road of Giresun

The research was started on February 2012 to determine the amount of heavy metals in Giresun rain water samples along the coastal road. This research was pursued over 12 months, as seasonal water samples were collected from identified eight stations. Heavy metals concentrations (ppm) Cu, Cr, Pb, Zn, Co, Cd, Mn, Fe, Ni and As; were determine in rainwater samples which was collected. In the present study, irrespective of the station and the seasonal difference average of heavy metal concentrations was determined in rain water, Cr: 0.0220, Mn: 0.4149, Fe: 2.3793, Co: 0.0074, Ni: 0.0177, Cu: 0.0502 Zn: 0.7131, as: 0.0094, Cd: 0.0046, Pb: 0.0361. In this research, a statistically significant difference wasn't found in terms of the stations (p> 0.05). In terms of seasons, a statistically significant difference was found. (p <0.05).
